Cataract is the main reason why people undergo a surgery in intraocular lens. Intraocular lens is an implanted lens used to replace your crystalline lens (it is the transparent skin in the eye that helps to refract light to be focused on the retina) in our eyes. Before, people use thick glasses and where them everywhere they go, everywhere they are. Nowadays, people use contact lenses or undergo a surgery to replace their intraocular lens and act as if nothing had happen.

Since people have different type of eyes, intraocular lenses also comes in different sizes, different texture and different prices.

There are foldable intraocular lenses; it is made of high grade acrylic materials making it more biostable, square edge optics that reduces the chance of pco, extremely tear resistant, superior optical characteristics, flexible and tensile. It is available in -5 to +7 diopters and in yellow chromophore.

There is also another type of intraocular lenses which is a single piece and checked using Laser Interferometer to get better optical quality. It is Modulation  of Transfer Function (MTF) general test of intraocular lens assuring much better lens usable surface, optics and accurate power. It usually expires in 5 years and sterilized by ETO.
